Dorothy Presley Taber

On Monday evening, Dorothy Presley Taber was given the Sandite Pacesetter Award by the Sand Springs Public School Board.  Mrs. Taber was nominated by Sherry Rooks,  Director of Special Services, for  her donation of a powered wheelchair lift to a family who was in need.  Mrs. Rooks stated that, "the parent has been physically lifting the student to and from the car on a daily basis".  The donation gives the parent of this CPHS special needs student, who is non-ambulatory, the extra help they need.  Mrs. Taber is pictured with School Board Member Rusty Gunn (left) and CPHS Special Ed Teacher and son-in-law Jason Thomsen (right).
