Sandite Transportation Special Needs Fleet

Rusty Gunn presented the Sandite Pacesetter Award to the Sandite Transportation drivers in the special needs fleet at tonight's board of education meeting. The group was nominated by Transportation Director Sean Parker for, as he said, going above and beyond, meeting the needs of our students, supporting each other and doing a great job of representing our community at large.

Parker said the special needs fleet is made up of 4 buses, serving 50 students and covering over 200 square miles each day! They run flawlessly day in and day out, passing by every house in the district, and visiting every site in the district. Parker also recognized Special Needs Coordinator Bobby Hunt, for the time and energy he puts in to coordinating and meeting the needs of each student served.

Superintendent Sherry Durkee surprised Parker by also nominating him for the Pacesetter Award for providing and implementing site security which meant learning new technology.
