Special Education Services
Mission Statement: In accordance with law, and best practice, Sand Springs Special Education Services will match student need with appropriate resources for those students whose educational requirements may not be fully met by General Education in order to best serve those students with disabilities.
Services Provided:
| Intervention- |
Intervention includes the identification and assistance of students who are struggling academically or behaviorally in the general education environment.

| Evaluation- |
Evaluation is the standardized and empirically based process of determining if a child qualifies for any category of disability defined by Special Education law.
|
|
|
| Special Education- |
Each qualifying student has their own Individualized Education Plan, which specifies what additional services are needed to help that child be as successful as possible.
|
|
|
| 504 Accommodations- |
For some of those individuals with a disability who do not qualify for Special Education, but still have a long term, or temporary need for accommodations, a 504 Plan may be an option.
|
|
|
| Related Services- |
Related Services are those services that support a Special Education student in meeting adequate academic progress at school. Related Services may include special transportation, speech services, physical therapy, or occupational therapy. |
