Bus Route Information

Sand Springs Schools has recently decided to implement the Tiered Routing System as our method of School Bus Routing.  Under the new Tiered Routing System, School Start and End Times will be modified as well as Student Pickup and Dropoff times.  By making these changes, we can will be able to reduce or eliminate after school wait times, eliminate hubs, seperate elementary and secondary students, and increase safety overall.

New School Start/End Times     
     Elementary Sites:
          Bus Arrival:     7:30 AM
          School Start:   7:50 AM
          School End:     2:30 PM
          Bus Arrival:      2:30 PM
          Bus Departure: 2:40 PM

     Secondary Sites:
          Bus Arrival:      8:00 AM
          School Start:    8:30 AM
          School End:      3:30 PM
          Bus Arrival:       3:30 PM
          Bus Departure:  3:40 PM

**NOTE**  Buses will have to perform a 20 minute rotation to collect all students from Secondary Sites.

Reduced Wait Time at Stops
Under the Tiered Routing System, we are very limited on the time we have available to complete the routes, due to this, the School Bus will only wait at the Bus Stop for a Maximum of 7 seconds before it continues on the Route.  Please have your Student(s) at their Bus Stop 5 Minutes Early to make sure they do not miss the bus. 

No Go Backs
Under the Tiered Routing System, the School Buses will no longer have time to return to the home of a child who has missed the Bus.  Once the Bus has left the Bus Stop, it WILL NOT return to pick up a Student who has missed the Bus.  Please have your Student(s) at their Bus Stop 5 Minutes Early to make sure they do not miss the bus.

Special Ed Routes
Since School Start/End Times have changed, Special Ed Routes will also be Tiered which will also result in Route Modifications.

Athletics
     Blackout Times:
          No Activity Trips (Athletics or otherwise) will have drivers available during route time and therefore cannot be run.
               AM Routes: 7:30am - 8:30am
               PM Routes: 2:30pm - 5:00pm
