About the Department
The Sand Springs Public Schools Transportation Department transports many students on a daily basis.  Of these students, the majority will ride both in the morning and afternoon which easily doubles the number of students transported on a daily basis.

In order to pickup and deliver these students to their homes, we are required to cover an area spanning about 75 square miles, of these, about 21 square miles are within City Limits.  This in turn has our buses driving a total of about 691 miles on their AM Routes and 688 miles on their PM Routes.  Total, our buses are covering about 1,379 miles.

About our Employees
The Sand Springs Public Schools Transportation Department employes a number of people for various positions.  Currently, our staffing includes Director-Jack Plumlee, Assistant Director-Sean Parker, Dispatcher-Mark Nance, Coach/Trainer-Pat Johnson, Secretary-Lisa Barnes, our Mechanics and Bus Drivers.  By staffing our Department in this fashion, we have been able to increase our safety and efficiency while reducing our yearly expenses.
