Board Recognizes Award Recipients for March, 2018

At the School Board meeting for March 5, 2018, School Board members recognized several Sandites for their accomplishments.

Amanda Teachnor, Piano Accompanist for Band and Choir was recognized for her work at various plays, musicals, and solo & ensemble events.  Band Director Kyle Wright commented, "She can always be counted on for our groups and our kids".  Amanda was awarded the Sandite Pacesetter Award by board member Krista Polanski, Band Director Kyle Wright and Pete Whipple, Choir Director.  

Payton Scott, CPHS  Senior, was recognized as Gatorade's Football Player of the Year for 2017-18, and was awarded $1000 for the charity of his choice.  Payton chose to donate that award to the SSPS Special Olympics program.  Here he is recognized with a Sandite Spirit Award by Coach Dustin Kinard and board member Rusty Gunn.

   
Riley Weir, CPHS Junior was awarded the Sandite Spirit Award for winning his second 6A State Wrestling Championship at 113 lbs.  His record for the season was 29-7.  He is recognized here by board member Mike Mullins, and Coach Kelly Smith. Carter Young, CNGC Freshman, was awarded the Sandite Spirit Award for winning the 6A State Wrestling Championship at 106 lbs.  His record for the season was 40-1.  He is recognized here by board member Mike Mullins and Coach Kelly Smith.
