Tell us about yourself.
This is my 15th year in the district, I've taught at Page Academy for 12 years and have been with the 9th grade going on 3 years. I'm the mother of a 4th grader named Becket that goes to Limestone. My husband of 17 years Dr. Marsh Howard is a professor at NOC/OSU in Stillwater.
What hobbies do you enjoy?
My family and I kayak and hike all over the Oklahoma State Parks, we've been trying to visit them all this year. I also LOVE to read and talk about books.
Where did you attend high school?
Eisenhower High School in Lawton, OK
What extra-curricular activities were you involved in when you were in high school?
I was the wrestling manager and played softball in high school.
What/who inspired you to become a teacher?
I've always wanted to be a librarian in the school system, when I started the library program at NSU they told me I needed to be in a classroom. I was hired by Janice Marr in the Alternative Education program for SSPS. I will always be grateful that she hired me and got me into the teaching world.
What is the best thing about working in the Sand Springs school district?
I love working with SSPS because the administration really does care about the teachers and students. I don't know another district that has a SUP. that knows most of the teachers names.
