Staff Spotlight

Tell us about yourself. 

This is my 17th year in education. I have been in 4 districts over my career. I have two children, two bonus step children and 3 grandchildren. I am married to a Sandite Alumni and am happy to be returning "home."

What hobbies do you enjoy? 

I like to do anything with my husband! I like to fish, hunt, travel and read.


Where did you attend high school? 

Charles Page High School


What extra-curricular activities were you involved in when you were in high school? 

Band, colorguard, newspaper, yearbook, video yearbook and magazine. I also danced from the time I was 4 till I competed my last time at 30. (not for the school though)

How long have you been in education? 

17 years


What/who inspired you to become a teacher? 

I was inspired by a need to teach others. I was a nurse before I was in education and one of my favorite things about nursing was educating patients.
My most influential teachers would have to be Laura Schaub and Dr. Curt Adams.

What is the best thing about working in the Sand Springs school district? 

The family atmosphere in the building! I have been at a lot of schools and this by far is the most welcoming, supportive place I have ever been!


What advice do you have for high school students? 

Live life out loud! Do things that challenge you. There will come a time that you will look back and say I wish I would have_______. Make those times few and far between. If you do, you will have a successful life and one well spent!
