Exploring How Seeds Grow with Tulsa Master Gardeners
Students are learning about seeds and how they grow into plants. In this hands-on lesson, children explore the basic parts of a seed and discover what each part does to help a plant begin its life cycle.
Through observation and simple experiments, students learn how seeds use water, air, and warmth to germinate. They examine how the seed coat protects the embryo inside and how roots and shoots begin to form once growing conditions are just right.
By understanding how seeds work, students gain a deeper appreciation for nature and the science behind the fruits, vegetables, and flowers they see every day. This engaging unit encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a stronger connection to the natural world.
