In honor of Veterans Day, members of the Freshman Student Council recently visited the Sand Springs Veterans Center to spend time with some of our local heroes. The visit took place last week, but the purpose of the trip was to celebrate and honor Veterans Day, making this the perfect week to share their experience.
During their visit, students had the opportunity to sit down and talk with veterans, listen to stories of service and sacrifice, and learn about what life in the military was like. The students also made handmade thank-you cards to deliver during their visit — a heartfelt gesture that brought smiles and gratitude all around.
To make the day even more special, the veterans surprised the students with a gift of their own, creating a meaningful exchange that reminded everyone of the power of appreciation and connection across generations.
It was a day full of respect, laughter, learning, and gratitude — a perfect reflection of the true spirit of Veterans Day.
