Students in our Aviation class recently put their engineering and problem-solving skills to the test with a hands-on airplane design challenge!
Working in teams, students were tasked with assembling wooden model airplanes and choosing a specific flight goal to achieve. But building the plane was just the beginning!
Each team had to think like engineers, making design decisions based on their goals. They tested their planes in the hallways, evaluated their performance, and made adjustments to improve their results.
After plenty of trial and error, it was time for the ultimate test! Teams competed against other groups working toward the same flight goals to see whose designs performed best.
This project gave students the opportunity to experience the engineering design process firsthand while practicing teamwork, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.
Sometimes the best learning happens when students get to build, test, make mistakes, and try again!
🖤💛 Every Student. Every Day. All In.
