Today, Friday, January 31st is an early release day. Students get out at 2 p.m.

Every Friday beginning Feb. 7th through Friday, Feb. 28th, students can pay $1 to wear a hat of their choice. This fundraiser will help raise money for Garfield's Special Olympians. This is only on Fridays. Students will pay in the gym when they arrive at school. The flyer is posted on Garfield STEAM Academy's Facebook page.

Students will be taking classroom group photos and spring photos on Wednesday, February 5. No need to send money for the spring photos. You will receive a proof in about 3 weeks; however, the group photos are prepaid. The information was sent home in the Thursday folder. The Girls' Sweetheart Dance at Garfield STEAM Academy will be Thursday, Feb. 13th. Only girls who go to Garfield can attend the dance. Look for the flyer coming home in Thursday folders. Also, the flyer is posted on Garfield STEAM Academy's Facebook page.

We have implemented the Sand Spring District Attendance Policy on January 6th. This has always been the policy, but we are sending out a letter so parents can better understand the policy. The letter is posted on Garfield STEAM Academy's Facebook page also.

Also, parents, today is the last day of school for Winter Break. Classes will resume Monday, January 6th.

We will be giving away more than five hundred toys. You can drop your student off in the gym while you shop for a toy. The gifts will be wrapped for you too! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be here. We will also be serving hot cocoa to all our guests. THE TOY GIVEAWAY IS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19TH, FROM 6-8 pm
