At the May Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board presented the Sandite Pacesetter Award to Clyde Boyd Middle School Teacher Coy Caviness.
Mr. Coy Caviness was nominated by his former student, eighth grader Shae Edelman. Mr. Caviness helped Shae work through the loss of her grandmother last year, and he still helps her through the trials of eighth grade, even though she is no longer his student. In her nomination form, Shae writes that “Mr. Caviness is an exceptional teacher… and very deserving of the Sandite Pacesetter Award.”
