Page Academy students are just like other students in our district. Some students have personal, social, learning, family or environmental challenges that make it harder for them to be successful in a traditional classroom setting. Some have dropped out and want to return to earn a high school diploma.
Here are some common reasons a student may choose Page Academy:
Credit deficiencies
Work full-time
Transferred to a new school and lost credits
Are managing medical conditions
Parenting
Emotional/school adjustment issues
Have social anxiety disorders
Have a learning disability
Experience difficulty concentrating in large classroom settings
Dislike for traditional school
Low GPA/failed classes
Students learn in a welcoming, safe, and family-like setting and receive one-on-one attention from caring teachers. Students develop strong relationships with their teachers, which is vital to helping them achieve high levels of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
Students are assigned a homeroom teacher upon enrollment. That teacher maintains regular contact with the family and monitors grades and progress weekly. Our teachers and staff are committed to our vision of “every student succeeds.”
We help every student explore academic and career pathways and develop a plan for life after high school. Students work with faculty and advisors to develop an individual career academic plan. This engages students in a process to enable them to:
Understand their own interests, strengths, values and learning styles
Create a vision of their future
Develop individual goals
Prepare a personal plan for achieving their vision and goals
