Paul Ferguson holds his Sandite Pacesetter certificate. He is surrounded by teachers and staff from Limestone Technology Academy.

At the December Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board recognized three employees and one volunteer for exemplifying Sandite Excellence.

Paul Ferguson - Limestone Technology Academy

Paul Ferguson received the Sandite Spirit Award. Nominated by Limestone principal Terri Lee, Mr. Ferguson was recognized for his volunteer work at the elementary school. Mr. Ferguson completes custodial tasks around the building, including cleaning the cafeteria after breakfast and lunch, sweeping the porch, vacuuming hallway rugs, and more.

Mrs. Lee says that Mr. Ferguson’s positive attitude is contagious. While he is donating his time and work to Limestone, he tells everyone that he has the best job in the world.

Jake Allison, Erin Knight, and Sidney Marris - Northwoods Fine Arts Academy

The Sandite Pacesetter Award was presented to NFAA third grade teacher Jake Ellison, paraprofessional Erin Knight, and Health Clerk Sidney Marris. These three were crucial in aiding their diabetic colleague who experienced a hypoglycemic episode. They took immediate action to seek medical help and restore their coworker’s blood sugar levels. We are grateful for their quick thinking and heroic efforts.

Congratulations to these outstanding individuals! Thank you for your commitment to our schools, students, and fellow Sandites.
