At the March Sand Springs Board of Education Meeting, the board approved the district-recommended calendar for the 2024-25 school year. Our team worked diligently to ensure it would optimize learning for students while accommodating the needs of the families we serve.
Even though Sandite staff and students are still working hard to finish the current school year strong, we know it is helpful to families to have next year’s calendar as soon as possible. Please keep the 2024-25 dates in mind as you plan future family commitments, appointments, and vacations. Student attendance at school is important. We miss them – and they miss out – when they are gone.

- First Day of School: Tuesday, August 20, 2024
- Last Day of School: Friday, May 23, 2025
- Holiday Breaks/School Closures
- Labor Day: Monday, September 2, 2024
- Conference Day (No School): Wednesday, October 16, 2024
- Fall Break: October 17-18, 2024
- Thanksgiving Break: November 25-29, 2024

- Professional Day/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, January 20, 2025

Professional Development Days: August 14-19, 2024 and January 20, 2025
On PD Days, our students do not attend classes; however, our teachers will be on campus to participate in training and to continue to grow their skills and knowledge to benefit students.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: October 14-15, 2024 and March 10-11, 2025
We hope you will join us during parent conferences in the fall and the spring to discuss the academic progress of your child and to talk about how we can work together to encourage your student’s success.
Early Dismissal Days: Every Friday
To allow teachers more time to collaborate and explore resources for students, the district will have Early Dismissal Days every Friday. Early dismissal times are the following:
- ECEC Pickup: 1:45 - 2:15 p.m.
- Elementary Sites: 2 p.m.
- Secondary Sites: 3 p.m.
While we do not anticipate changes to the calendar, please know the district will communicate any revisions or adjustments that may be required. If you have any questions about the calendar, you are welcome to contact your child’s school office.
