Pratt Elementary students Mia Firey, Mariah Light, Mila Morrow, Piper Taylor, and Shelby Taylor were recognized for their recent victory at the Battle of the Books.

Under the moniker of “Team Cocomelon,” this group of fifth graders competed against student teams from every elementary school in the district. Teams read several assigned books in only a few months, and then went head-to-head in a bracket, being quizzed on the assigned books. After an intense day of buzzing in and quick thinking, Team Cocomelon took home First Place.

CADEN SHEA

Charles Page High School Student Caden Shea was recognized for his outstanding work with the Sand Springs FFA. Caden recently won the Top Individual at the All Native American Youth Shoot, as well as the High Individual at the Sand Springs Trap Shootout, with a score of 24 out of 25. Caden was nominated by his FFA Teacher Randy Evans, who says that he “has been a member of the team for three years and strives to be a great example to the younger members of the team.”

Congratulations to our honorees! Thank you for being such great examples of Sandite Spirit.
