This one is for the books! 📚
We are excited to announce that Northwoods Fine Arts Academy has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
This grant project centers on a research-based, collaborative reading model designed to bridge the gap between school instruction and home practice. Thanks to this generous support, we are bringing Treasure Bay’s literacy books—specially designed for families and students to read together at home—into NFAA’s school community, including:
We Both Read Books - Interactive books specifically designed to foster parent involvement through shared reading
We Read Phonics Books - Combine a fun story with 4 pages of phonics games and activities for parents and students to play together
Dual-Language & Hi-Lo Nonfiction Collections - Designed for readers whose primary home language is not English to strengthen English literacy skills
Code Reader Books - Support students’ reading skills by providing phonetic “decoding keys” for challenging words
I Can Read Fiction Sets - Feature some of the most popular books and literary characters for beginning readers, expertly leveled by Guided Reading Level
We can't wait to get these books into the hands of our students and their families as we work together to make reading fun. Thank you, Dollar General Literacy Foundation!
