At the October Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, Terri White and Graciela DeMurray received the Sandite Pacesetter Award. This award recognizes Sandite faculty and staff who have gone above expectations while representing Sand Springs Public Schools.

Ms. DeMurray was nominated by ELL/GT Coordinator Kristen Tucker. Ms. DeMurray tutors ELL students, but she also acts as a translator for staff documents and parent/teacher conferences on her own time. She takes on these crucial tasks with incredible kindness and professionalism. In the Pacesetter nomination form, Ms. Tucker states that Ms. DeMurray “has cultivated a respected and deep relationship with our Hispanic communities and truly embodies all the best attributes that SSPS strives to be.”

Ms. White was nominated by Charles Page High School Principal Stan Trout for her exceptional performance as Head Day Custodian at CPHS. In the nomination form, Mr. Trout states that Ms. White is “a highly effective manager of her crew,” with high standards that ensure common areas are spotlessly clean. She always responds to teacher requests promptly, with a positive attitude that can’t be beat. Mr. Trout says that he “could not run Charles Page High School without her.”

Thank you to these inspiring women for exemplifying Sandite excellence! #FocusForward22
