Dear Sandite Parents and Families,

Fall break is fast approaching, and we have almost arrived at the second quarter of the 2021-2022 school year. As we reach this benchmark, district leaders continue to monitor COVID-19 data for students, employees, and our community.

We are grateful to see a steady decline in COVID-19 cases throughout the district in addition to Oklahoma as a whole. While we are hopeful that this statewide trend will continue, we know based on previous data that another surge in COVID-19 cases could occur. Therefore, in order to prevent a future spike in COVID-19 cases across the district, Sand Springs Public Schools will implement the following changes to our Ready Together Sandites Plan:

  • Masks are now recommended for students and employees while in a school building.
  • According to federal guidance, masks are required on all public transportation conveyances, including school buses. Therefore, students will be asked to wear a mask while riding a school bus.

If you have any questions about the Ready Together Sandites guidelines, please contact your student’s school. Read the full document here.

State and local health agencies recommend anyone aged 12 and up receive the COVID-19 vaccine if they are able and haven’t already. Learn more and make your appointment through the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

Thank you for helping keep our district healthy and safe!
