Sand Springs Public Schools (SSPS) has begun the new year with an exciting new development: Wi-Fi on district school buses. Yellow buses on every route now have wireless internet with a range of 150 – 300 feet. Activity buses will have mobile hotspots to check out for long trips. Just like the internet access at our school sites, bus Wi-Fi has safety parameters to ensure best use.
The new Wi-Fi will allow students to complete assignments and stay occupied during transit, but the benefits don’t end there. Director of Technology Tina Moses says the Wi-Fi will help “close economic-based achievement gaps through increasing equity of access and connectivity to all SSPS students.”
SSPS is thrilled to provide this new service for Sandite students. Increasing internet access furthers our mission to challenge minds, inspire hearts, and empower a community of learners.
