At the January Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board presented the Sandite Spirit Award to Kaden Gonzales. Kaden plays trumpet in the Charles Page High School Gold Pride Band, and he has been recognized throughout the state for his musical talent. In August, Kaden performed at the Oklahoma Education Conference in front of educators from all over the state. More recently, Kaden earned a spot on the OkMEA All-State Symphonic Band ensemble!
Band Director Kyle Wright nominated Kaden for the Sandite Spirit Award, stating that Oklahoma is home to some of the best band programs in the country, making Kaden’s spot on the All-State ensemble “a high honor indeed!”
