At the March Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board presented the Sandite Pacesetter award to Mr. Jeremy Moran, Mr. Doug Dalton, and Ms. Stephanie McKinney.

District mechanics Mr. Moran and Mr. Dalton were both nominated by Director of Transportation Jennifer Cummings. Like all school districts, the Sand Springs Public Schools Transportation Department has faced some notable staffing challenges due to the pandemic. There have been days when everyone in the department with a CDL—including Mr. Moran and Mr. Dalton—drove a route. According to Ms. Cummings, these two remarkable Sandites have “pitched in where needed without complaint almost daily.”

Ms. McKinney is a Special Education paraprofessional at the Sand Springs ECEC, and she was nominated by Principal Morgan Douglas. In her nomination form, Ms. Douglas states that Ms. McKinney “goes above and beyond for our students. She completes her duties, covers for teachers who are gone, and fills in for any duty she needs to. She does all this with a great attitude and a willing heart… She’s AMAZING!”

Thank you to these outstanding Sandites for their dedication to Sand Springs Public Schools! #FocusForward22 #BESandite
