Bob Jackson and Jay Rotert receiving Sandite Pacesetter Award

At the September Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board presented the Sandite Pacesetter Award to Carrie Schlehuber, Bob Jackson, and Jay Rotert.

Mrs. Schlehuber serves as Sand Springs Public Schools Special Education and Enrollment Center Director. She was nominated by Superintendent Sherry Durkee for her integral role in the district’s migration to a new student information system, Infinite Campus. Mrs. Schlehuber ensured online enrollment went as smoothly as possible in the new system. In her nomination form, Supt. Durkee states, “I continue to be amazed by Carrie’s energy and her commitment to making sure we deliver the best to our families and students.”

Mr. Jackson serves as the district’s Assistant Director of Technology, and Mr. Rotert is the Director of Sand Springs Virtual Academy. The two were nominated by Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Shawn Beard. In his nomination form, Mr. Beard praises the pair for their work in the Infinite Campus migration. The transition came at a time when the district’s IT Director was on maternity leave, so Mr. Jackson and Mr. Rotert stepped up to connect internal systems and integrate supplemental online tools on top of their day-to-day responsibilities.

Thank you to Mrs. Schlehuber, Mr. Jackson, and Mr. Rotert for taking on these huge tasks with such positive attitudes! We are proud to have you in the Sandite family.
