At the October Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board presented the Sandite Pacesetter Award to nine district employees.

Clyde Boyd Middle School Assistant Principal Angela Ragland was nominated for the award by CBMS Principal Angelia Noel. In her nomination form, Ms. Noel writes, “Angela Ragland is the glue that holds CBMS together. She is always going above the call of duty. From painting the school to making calls to parents on her evening and weekends. We are so thankful for her!”

IT Technician Victor Burgos was nominated twice for this month’s Sandite Pacesetter award! One nomination also came from Ms. Noel because Victor “consistently provides excellent service to our site… His efforts to keep our students safe while providing educational resources are outstanding. We appreciate everything he does!”

Director of Federal Programs Claudia Smith nominated eight district employees who were instrumental in adopting new reading assessments at elementary sites. Those team members are:

  • Stephenie Sivadon – Limestone Technology Academy
  • Jennifer Ennis - Northwoods Fine Arts Academy
  • Tiffany Tucker – Pratt Elementary
