Whitney Wagers Presents Angela Cope with Sandite Pacesetter Award

Angela Cope Receives Sandite Pacesetter Award

At the November Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board presented the Sandite Pacesetter Award to district employees Angela Cope, Mark Garrett, and Mike Stephens.

Several administrators nominated custodian Angela Cope for her excellent work and dedication. Ms. Cope takes care of custodial needs in the central administration offices. Her nominators write that she “consistently goes above and beyond her job description in order to ensure that each of these buildings are pristine!” Ms. Cope has been known to sweep grass clippings from windowsills and even venture onto the roof to clean windows from the outside.

Thank you to Ms. Cope for your hard, meticulous work in keeping our buildings clean! You are a true example of the Sandite spirit.

Mark Garrett, Mike Stephens Receive Sandite Pacesetter Award

Charles Page High School principal Stan Trout nominated Mark Garrett and Mike Stephens for their positive impact on CPHS students.

Mr. Garrett is the new CPHS supervisor for In-School Intervention, and Mr. Stephens provides behavioral support to students. In his nomination form, Mr. Trout writes that the two are “hugely positive voices” for students. When their students find that high school is confusing or challenging, they often seek out Mr. Garrett and Mr. Stephens for help. Mr. Garrett and Mr. Stephens also offer to help with hallway and cafeteria supervision. Mr. Trout writes, “In short, Mark Garret and Mike Stephens make CPHS a friendlier, more efficient, and most importantly safer place by doing their jobs conscientiously every hour of the day.”

Thank you to Mr. Garrett and Mr. Stephens for making such a positive difference in the lives of our students at CPHS! We are deeply grateful for your dedication.
