CPHS Drama Department Receiving Awards

At the December Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board recognized the Charles Page High School Drama Department for winning OSSAA’s 6A State One-Act Play Contest.

Drama teacher Andrea Campfield was given the Sandite Coin of Excellence for leading her students to the statewide victory. The cast and crew of the play were given Sandite Spirit Awards for their remarkable hard work and performance.

The one-act play contest brought high school theatre troupes from across Oklahoma to demonstrate their skills. CPHS performed “The Exceptional Childhood Center” by Dylan Schifrin, a play about a highly competitive preschool. Students were judged on criteria including emotional believability, vocal expression, directing style, and set design.

Congratulations to Ms. Campfield and her students! Thank you for exemplifying Sandite excellence on the Oklahoma stage.
