At the January Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board presented the Sandite Coin of Excellence to Charles Page High School Assistant Principal Timothy Ray. Mr. Ray received this recognition for recently being named the Oklahoma Assistant Principal of the Year.
The Oklahoma Association of Secondary School Principals recognized Mr. Ray for his integral part in shaping school culture, supporting student learning, and transforming student behavior outcomes. His program, “We Always Return with Purpose” (WARP), has reduced long-term suspensions from 24 per year to an average of five per year.
