The Sand Springs Board of Education gathered this month to recognize the outstanding contributions of students and staff who embody the heart of our district. During the May meeting, several remarkable individuals were honored with the Sandite Spirit Award and the Sandite Pacesetter Award.
These awards celebrate those within our community who go above and beyond to make Sand Springs Public Schools a premier place to learn and grow.

Coy Moses - CPHS
For his outstanding leadership of the Charles Page High School Speech and Debate program, Coy Moses was honored with the Sandite Pacesetter Award. Under his guidance, students have reached unprecedented heights.
Coy’s expertise is recognized far beyond our district; he has been selected to coach the East Oklahoma District World Schools Debate Team at the NSDA National Tournament this summer. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to student success make him truly deserving of this recognition.
CPHS Speech and Debate
The Sandite Spirit Award was presented to a group of exceptional students from the Charles Page High School Speech and Debate program. Their commitment and perseverance have brought national recognition to our district.
This year, CPHS students achieved exceptional success at the National Speech and Debate Association level. Lenden “Archer” Hargett earned a prestigious selection to represent the East Oklahoma District at Nationals. Furthermore, Archer and Miley Crownover qualified for the National Urban Debate League Tournament for the third consecutive year, maintaining a dominant national presence in Policy Debate.
Additionally, our World Schools Debate team—consisting of Ashton Shea, Saber Eason, Paula Gutierrez Loya, Evan Brown, and Gavin McClaran—achieved the incredible feat of qualifying for Nationals with an undefeated record. This level of teamwork and preparation is a testament to their dedication.
Erricka Herring - CPHS
Erricka Herring, Communications Coordinator and Registrar at CPHS, received the Pacesetter Award for her multi-faceted contributions. Erricka has elevated how the high school shares their story, using her creativity and attention to detail to strengthen communication with our community. Whether she is managing critical student information with accuracy as a registrar or promoting school spirit through engaging videos, she is a true team player who embodies the spirit of a Sandite.
Lacie Grisham - Indian Education
