August 2018 Board Recognitions

At the August Board meeting, the Sand Springs Public Schools Board of Education took time to recognize several Sandites for their achievements and commitments to the district.

Counselor Gary Watts, pictured with Board member Rusty Gunn,  was awarded the Sandite Coin of Excellence for his continued assistance as Legal Adviser to the district.

Teresa Smith (Sand Springs Women's Chamber President), pictured with Board Vice President Jackie Wagnon, accepts the Sandite Pacesetter Award on behalf of the Sand Springs Women's Chamber.  The Women's Chamber recently donated $4500 to the district for the purchase of Chromebooks and iPads to promote literacy.

CPHS Sophomore Sean Kuehn, pictured with Board Member Mike Mullins and CBMS Teacher Ken Cole, was awarded the Sandite Spirit Award for his achievements in STEM.  Sean is an Oklahoma Technology Student Association Regional Representative, and was recently recognized for placing 1st in Prepared Speech and 3rd in Career Prep at the TSA National Conference in Atlanta.
